what are the advantages of the DOHC subaru forester engine?

the 2011 2.5L engine is an DOHC, compared to the older SOHC engines pre 2011. are there any major advantages with the DOHC? it isn,t more powerful, unless you spring for the turbo version. subaru is only offering it for foresters, and not for outbacks.

Interesting comeback for the dohc after 12 years of being away. I am sure it is redesigned and Subaru definitely is making better head gaskets now, so it sounds like it will be soon introduced across the line (Foresters/Imprezas are made in Japan, so
