Why do coaches have seat belts but buses don't?
I know for a bus you go on short journeys and a coach is for long journeys, but if you went to the shop round the corner in your car you would still wear your seat belt. Wouldn't you?
So why do buses not have seat belts but coaches don't?
Economics. Buses are mass transit devices and have to be produced as cheaply as possible (though buses aren't cheap). Fitting 70 seat belts, when they're not legally required and probably wouldn't be used anyway, wouldn't make good business sense.
