hi, i have had this happen several times now:
when i stop after driving for x amount of time and leave the car running, like when im stopped at a red light etc.... my radiator burps and spits and gurgles coolant out of the pressure relief valve
The radiator cap itself contains the valve that lets the coolant escape to the overflow bottle. The cap is set to a certain pressure usually specific to that system. Liquid boils at a higher temperature when under pressure, hence the reason cooling
