toyota alternator price

I own a 96 Toyota Corlla, which is making engine noise. Can anyone help me with this problem?

The engine noise only occurs when I am at higher speeds and when I am actually on the gas. It sounds like a repetitive pinging noise. My Corolla also burns/ loses alot of oil. I am adding three quarts every 1500 miles. Is it possible that the oil consumption

it is the valves pinging. If you are going thru that much oil the engine probably will not last very much longer without having some major work done to it.
