Difference between Dodge Ram 2500 and 3500?

I found a couple other answers on here, but not enough detail....

Specifically, For SRW, 2003 models and up with the Cummins engine, what really is the difference between the two? I've read that the only difference is the number of leafs

The 3500 is a one ton dually and the 2500 is a 3/4 ton. The one ton can carry and tow more.
