How to improve performance and MPG on 2001 Windstar with 192,000 on it? Happy Holidays!!!?

Hello, I have a 2001 Ford Windstar LX that I am trying to get better mpg out of. I am currently running Shell 93 octane V-Power and it is running great on it. Here are the things that I am planning to do as well: K&N Performance air filter, Bosh Premium

With that many miles on that vehicle I would check out the tranny and for sure do a fluid and filter change on it before you spend money on anything else. If it was me I would be very scared that the transmission will go soon since (if it is the original
