Mike Furches comes to Mosaic from various experiences. From Rock N Roll, to Mental Health he has experiences that uniquely qualify him for the unique ministry of Mosaic. Mike has unique experience in ministry that started during the Jesus Movement of the 1970's. He also directs the ministry of The Virtual Pew, at www.thevirtualpew.com which is a unique web ministry that received the assistance of David Bruce from Hollywood Jesus and George Barna of the Barna Research Group in its original development. Mike also is a writer for various web sites including Hollywood Jesus and The Virtual Pew among others. He has been published in various books and magazine articles.

He is married to the former Mary Jane Erwin and has two children, Marathana Prothro, the Director of Communications for The Mennonite Church USA in Newton Kansas, and Nathan Furches a student and nationally recognized wrestler at Clearwater High School. Mary Jane and Mike have been married going on 30 years, and Mary Jane teaches school at Derby Middle School in Derby Kansas. Mike is excited about carrying out the mission and vision of Mosaic and blending the ministry of The Virtual Pew and Mosaic by reaching out to those who have either given up on church, or had issues with Christianity.
